The Meadows Opens With Slot Machines

The competition is on for gamers in the Tri-State area.

On Monday, officials at the Meadows Racetrack cut the ribbon for slot machines.

The Pennsylvania Legislature approved a measure for tracks like The Meadows to operate slot machines.

Mike Graninger, general manager of Meadows, said officials are optimistic about the racetrack's future. They are looking forward to competing against Wheeling Island in Ohio County and Mountaineer Racetrack in Hancock County.

There were a line of cars filled with people waiting to try their hand at the slots on Monday.

Graninger says they are going to be aggressive and pursue table gaming in Pennsylvania as well.
